Position: Business Analyst / Application Specialist, Mortgage Lending

Position Description:
IT MindFinders is conducting a search for a Business Analyst for one of our downtown Vancouver clients. This position is responsible for maintaining a core software application and enhancing the relationship with the system application provider.
Reporting directly to the Vice President, Information Technology, additionally the Business Analyst will develop MIS reports, manage projects and document business processes and workflows.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Interact with both the Business Users and the Vendor in the maintenance of the company’s core system application
- Identify issues and liaise with the application vendor on developing appropriate resolutions

Project manage system upgrades and manage the implementation regular service packs

Work with department heads to maintain the issues tracking system

Approve the installation of changes in the various operational environments

Devise and execute testing strategies

Work with the Users Group to identify common issues and concerns while advocating the company’s interests

Develop various MIS reports in Prospector, Salesforce and other systems
-
Facilitate sessions with departmental units to gather business and process flow requirements

Document business processes, workflows and procedures
MUST HAVE SKILLS
Mandatory minimum five years experience in the financial sector - either Banking or Credit Union industry - with a focus on mortgage lending, accounting, property tax, etc.

University Degree or Diploma in Business or Information Technology

Expert at identifying business requirements and interacting with senior business users

Ability to identify inefficiencies, process roadblocks and develop effective solutions

Competent with managing smaller projects

Experienced at performing Quality Control/Software testing

Excellent analytical ability, with a strong attention to detail

Excellent interpersonal skills with developed verbal communication and facilitation skills
-
Exceptional written skills with a focus on accurate and comprehensive documentation

Fully proficient in use of MS Office, MS Outlook, MS Project, MS Visio and other basic tools

Comfortable working in a fast paced environment and juggling several projects simultaneously
