IT MindFinders is conducting a search for a Project Manager (PM) for our client is based in the southend of the lower mainland.
Reporting directly to the VP, Services and Planning, the PM will be responsible for a portfolio of projects that will be both internally and externally focused. This position will also be responsible for developing standard project management practices, interacting with project sponsors, managers and other project managers as well as working with external partners and clients.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for the coordination and management of project resources including (cost, people, timelines, etc)

Communicate overall project stream status, risks, issues and dependencies

Escalate project issues and risks to overall project leadership

Produce Order of Magnitude estimates to support business case creation
-
Prepare cost, effort and timeline estimates, including list of required skills and resources
-
Promote the use of standard project management practices in all projects
-
Promote project alignment to the organizations plans, ensuring compliance with company standards and policies
-
Provide project management mentoring and coaching where necessary
-
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with business units, partners and service providers to ensure successful project implementation

Make recommendations to create revenue, reduce costs or take advantages of opportunities to our partner business units

Manage the change management process as it specifically relates to project scope, schedule, cost and expectations

Foster and encourage a team environment with the necessary depth of commitment to respond to dynamic and often unpredictable deadlines and priorities

Take responsibility for self development and continuous learning to achieve required knowledge for the job
Work closely with the Business Services, Infrastructure & Operations and Development & Delivery teams

provide solution estimation and project execution expertise;

actively capture costs, update work plans, track project milestones, etc.;

provide change management process for project scope changes and communicate any inter-related project dependencies caused by changes in project scope;

help the business nalysts to define projects and ensure projects are initiated successfully

MUST HAVE SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES
Post secondary degree or Technical school graduate
-
Minimum of 7 years project management experience in an Information Systems environment
-
Project Management Certification or equivalent work experience

Broad knowledge and expertise in technology focused business practices
-
Diverse business knowledge in many fields is desirable

Understanding of services agreements as related to commercial IT/IS systems
-
Excellent understanding of project management and project life cycles

Proven ability to manage and implement projects involving cross departmental teams
-
Superior negotiating, communication and interpersonal skills
-
Strong organizational, delegation and administrative skills
-
Functional knowledge of budget planning, cost control and capital/expense approval and management procedures required
-
Financial analysis and business case development experience is desired
-
Demonstrated ability in coaching, motivating, negotiation and providing leadership to others.

Willingness to travel up to 25%
