IT MindFinders is conducting a search for a Manager, Quality Assurance for our client located in Langley, BC. This position is under broad managerial direction and reports directly to the CIO.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Conduct performance appraisal and evaluations, issues resolution and assist with staffing decisions

Working with the CIO: Assist with budget development, cost control, timelines, ROI and asset utilization.

Play an active role on the corporate leadership team, ensuring the needs of the QA group are visible, represented, brought forward and standards adhered to.

Ensure effective alignment with departmental Managers on day to day operations and maintenance issues - ensure QA departmental plans are aligned with overall IT strategy

Manage business relationships with business line managers for, Service Level Agreements, scope and deliverables of business applications initiatives and schedules for business applications readiness for all project delivery

Create and manage QA work plans, including schedules, QA strategies and test plans, ensuring effective utilization of staff to meet project priorities, service levels and work requirements

Ensure that software quality measures comply with regulatory standards, industry standards and accepted best practices. Develop change control processes, practices and guidelines for new and existing technologies

Create methodologies and processes for the collection and analysis of data

Remain current on industry trends as well as future strategic developments within quality assurance
- Takes responsibility for self-development and continuous learning to achieve the required knowledge for the job
MUST HAVE SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Post secondary degree or Technical school graduate

Minimum of 10 years IT/IS experience including a minimum of 5 years of design, development, and implementation of QA standards for software testing

Minimum 3 years direct experience as a QA Manager for a major application integrator or application product company - excellent coaching, listening, presentation, and interpersonal skills

Broad knowledge and expertise in technology focused business practices

Strong knowledge of system testing metrics, best practices and methodologies

Understanding of Services Agreements as related to commercial IT/IS systems

Excellent understanding of application software development management and SDLC - Understanding of SOA, .Net and Web based applications and products

Direct hands-on experience with ad hoc query programs, automated testing tools, and reporting software

Extensive practical knowledge in importing data for use in report software, spreadsheets, graphs, and flow charts

Proven data analysis, data verification, and problem-solving abilities
-
Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws
-
Strong organizational, delegation and administrative skills required.

IT Project Management experience, PMP or PMI training, Financial Analysis and business case development experience is highly desired
