Position: Banking Business Analyst
Location: Langley, BC

Position Description:
IT MindFinders is conducting a search for a Banking Business Analyst. The key responsibility of this position will be to meet with the business units to conduct the analysis, requirements/specifications and validate the business needs of the stakeholders and communicate this information back to the development team. This includes definition and direction on systems development and maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities:

Consult & support the business in expanding functionality and project management on small to medium software and 3rd party solution projects.

determines how changing business needs will affect the business systems while understanding the role of the business system in the big picture

Conducts research and analysis into the nature, effect and results of system problems.

Develops detailed business user requirements, system documentation, workflow procedures, and data modeling.

Negotiates plans, time frames and trade-offs while ensuring stakeholder understands the final results of the project.

Assists the Project Manager on larger projects regarding planning, scheduling and resource allocation.

Responsible for managing small to medium projects.

Acts as a liaison between Technology and/or outside vendors as deemed appropriate

Participates in industry and other professional networks to keep abreast of industry standards, trends and best practices in order to strengthen organizational and technical knowledge
Must have skills:
-
College diploma or university degree in the field of business administration, computer science, accounting, or management information systems

Certification in Business Analysis

Minimum of 5 years related work experience, proven experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products.

Extensive practical knowledge in importing data for use in report software, spreadsheets, graphs, and flow charts.

Experience with core software applications, including Office, Visio, SQL and Crystal Reporting.

experience with banking software(Wealthview), integrated applications & conversion activities

Knowledge of financial industry front-end and back office procedures including understanding of IT infrastructure.

Ability to conduct research into systems issues and products

Possess expertise in methodologies, process modeling, data modeling, user interface design and testing.

Understand project management and the project life cycle, current technology and are aware of emerging technologies.

Ability to travel may be required in this position.
