Position: Director, Product Management

Position Description:
IT MindFinders is conducting a search for a Director, Product Management on behalf of our client located in Vancouver, BC. Reporting to the Senior IT Director, the Director, Product Management will be charged with guiding the product team using both your industry experience and your ongoing communication with customers, prospects and partners. The scope of the position includes increasing the profitability of existing products and developing new members of the product family. This position has both inbound and outbound aspects. Knowledge of the market and customers’ needs must be analyzed to define release requirements jointly with your engineering counterparts. Furthermore, the product concepts and benefits must be communicated to the Sales and Marketing teams, and you will support both those teams in their communication with customers. Finally, you must work closely with the Marketing team to ensure alignment of overall product and go-to-market strategies.
Responsibilities:
· Specifying product requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers and non-customers
· Competitive analysis
· Maintain and communicate the product roadmap
· Work with development team to define release milestones
· Training for pre-sales engineers
· Educating Marketing about key product features, benefits and target customer
· Analyzing potential partner relationships for the product
· Represent the company as thought leaders to the outside world
· Support Marketing with white papers, Webinar participation and event support
· Support pre-sales efforts in selected accounts
· Travel to customer and non-customer sites in North America and Europe (25%)
Position Requirements:
· Knowledgeable in the technologies relevant to XML-based enterprise content management
· Technical knowledge matched by a keen appreciation of market-driven requirements
· Outstanding oral and written communication
· Proven organizational skills
· A proven ability to generate domain expertise credibility
· A product evangelist
· Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others
· Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work objectives
· Proven creative thinking and execution
· Willingness to work a flexible schedule and an enjoyment of field interactions
· 5+ years of focussed software product management experience.
· Computer Science or Engineering degree or relevant work experience
