Position: Senior Business Analyst / Project Manager, Financial Sector

Position Description:
IT MindFinders is conducting a search for a Senior Business Analyst / Project Manager for our downtown Vancouver client in the financial sector.
Reporting directly to the CFO, this role will initially be responsible for the full lifecycle of determining the vendor selection and product implementation of the company’s core operating system. This includes understanding business processes, documenting technology requirements and preparing an RFP for the replacement of the company’s current system.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead meetings and gather information & specifications for athe development of an RFP to replace a core portfolio management system

Drive the vendor selection process

Project manage the implementation process
-
Investigate and explore new business applications and tools for desk top users

Document and circulate all meeting minutes
-
Manage and work with various systems and application vendors
-
Liaison with end users and system programmers to ensure development and implementation of new applications and reports are rolled out on a timely manner

Coordinate and document all testing and training of new system enhancements
-
Create user manuals for all systems and enhancement
-
Conduct Business User system training and leadership
-
Identify and develop further system enhancements
-
Lead the development of additional new projects as required

Act as the go-to person and make recommendations for corporate technical direction
MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS

University Degree in Business, Information Technology or Project Management Certification
-
Minimum 10 years industry experience with progressively increasing level of leadership responsibility

Leadership role and track record of successful delivery with large budget, software systems implementations/conversions
-
Demonstrated competence in change management and success at influencing people at all levels
-
A strong sense of project ownership and responsibility with the ability to take a project through to its completion

Strong organizational and problem solving skills
-
Strong negotiation skills
-
Broad knowledge and expertise in technology focused business practices

Confident dealing with all levels within an organization and making Executive Level presentations

Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills
-
Strong working knowledge of xcel, Word, and relational databases
-
Working knowledge of project management tools, techniques and methodologies (MS Project and Visio)

The preferred applicant will have previous financial services industry experience and hands on experience successfully managing and converting system projects.
