IT MindFinders is conducting a search for a Chief Development Officer for our client, a non-profit organization located in Vancouver, BC.
Position Description:
Reporting to the Vice President of External Relations, the Chief Development Officer will lead and execute the organization’s fundraising strategies by working closely with members of the Board and the Strategic Fund Development Committee, as well as assisting the Vice President in developing strategic community partnerships. As a member of the Senior Management Team, this role will be seen as the senior fundraising staff member and will provide management and mentorship to a small Development team. The ideal candidate is a seasoned fundraising professional with well-rounded fundraising knowledge and hands-on experience in sponsorships, grant writing, corporate donations, and major campaigns. In addition to a well-developed network of contacts in the area of fund development, you are experienced in cultivating and developing successful relationships with major donors and sponsors resulting in the achievement of annual fund development targets.
Must Have Skills and Requirements:
University degree in a related discipline
A minimum of 6 years progressive fundraising experience including strong personal relationships with major gift donors and volunteers
Sound knowledge of fund development methodologies
Proven track record of major gift fundraising including a history of success in securing annual donations of a significant size
Demonstrated leadership, planning, strategic thinking, and budget management capabilities
Excellent interpersonal, relationship building and mentoring skills
Excellent research, grant writing, communication and presentation skills
