IT MindFinders is conducting a search for a Senior Network Administrator on behalf of our client located in Vancouver, BC. Reporting to the IT Director, the Senior Network Administrator will become an integral member of a cohesive IT team and will be responsible for the following activities:
- Managing servers
- Updating hardware and software to meet recommended requirements
- Managing LAN and WAN System Configurations
- VPN
- Managing local and remote servers
- Managing and maintaining firewall
- Enforcing and maintaining Network Security
- Managing E-mail servers, backup systems and software updates
- Performing required maintenance on server hardware
- Monitoring network traffic
- Performing random data restoration
- Ensuring that all networking segments are scalable
- Administering a Windows 2003 AD environment
- Setting up and installing new servers
- Optimizing windows network
- Managing redundancy with ISP
- Writing and updating documentation of requirements, design, and implementation plans
Qualifications:
- 5 years experience as a Systems Administrator
- Network and security certifications such as CCNA, CISSP, Checkpoint, etc.
- Excellent knowledge and a thorough understanding of the OSI Network Model, Ethernet, VLANs, and TCP/IP networking
- Hands-on working experience with network configurations, services, routing and related protocols
- Experience with managing and administering a MS Exchange environment
- In-depth knowledge of Windows 2000, XP, and 2003
- Good understanding of web servers, DNS and load balanced environments
- Knowledge of designing and implementing network environments
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- Experience with JBoss and TomCat would be a definite asset
- Excellent research skills
- Experience with Linux would be an asset
- Must be a team player and have great communication skills
- Must have the ability to learn and adapt to change quickly
- Must be able to respond to mission critical challenges
