IT MindFinders is conducting a search for a Software Engineer for one of our downtown Vancouver based clients.

Our client is growing their bright and energetic software development team that support and automate the business processes of their established and growing company.

Quality, maintainability, security, and testability are of utmost importance. The Web Developer will be responsible for both maintenance of existing systems as well as designing, architecting, and  developing new features and functionality.

The ideal candidate will have strong communications skills enabling them to discuss issues amongst the team, come up with solutions and communicate decisions to stakeholders. Being an expert communicator, the candidate is comfortable refining requirements in addition to generating documentation for internal and external use.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting and/or leading in the development, documentation and maintenance a variety of different software systems for both external and internal customers

• Analyzing functional requirements and contribute to functional and logical design of projects

• Reviewing peers' work for security and optimization shortcomings

• Investigating and troubleshooting complex production issues, manage issues in a defect management system

• Coordinating with various teams and external contacts to ensure project deadlines are met

 Must Have Skills

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering

• Minimum 4 years developing client and web applications using Java/J2EE and/or .Net.

• Experience using Microsoft systems and troubleshooting database interactions.

• Success dealing with high-availability issues and strategies

• Fluent with object-oriented design patterns and current software development methodologies

• Experience in user interface design and implementation

• Experience with: Dynamic web content, SSL, unit testing, build scripts, object-relational data mapping, revision control, web applications, Salesforce.com, application performance optimizing

Note: Some .NET experience would be an asset
