Position: Quality Assurance Team Lead
Location: Vancouver, BC
IT MindFinders is conducting a search for a Team Lead, Quality Assurance on behalf of our client located in Vancouver, BC. The Team Lead, Quality Assurance is the key quality stakeholder active in applying software quality engineering activities with respect to our client’s hosted software product.
Responsibilities:
Creates functional test designs and plans
Operates open source and proprietary test automation tools
Carries out detailed staging of complex distributed test scenarios
Oversees and provides guidance and direction for a team of 2 – 3 individuals
Provides occasional support to problems reported by the field
Directs assignments for subsystem and system-level testing necessary to ensure incremental quality in all releases
Prepares iteration and release planning for team
Designs and configures test environment to achieve solid testing
Executes tests and works closely with Quality Manager and the development team to resolve system and product issues
Collects status and prepares dashboards showing metrics
Participates in using, maintaining, and extending tools necessary for functional testing, defect tracking, risk analysis and coordination
Active in improving/expanding test automation and product quality
Stages test situations to better understand situations reported from the field
Qualifications:
6 – 8 years of experience in enterprise-level commercial software environment including 2+ years operating in a SaaS environment
2 or more years of experience with software quality principles and practices including test planning, test strategy, test matrix design in a fast paced agile environment
Must have substantial experience with non-commercial, open source test tools/suites/frameworks such as HttpUnit, HTMLUnit, JUnit, JMeter, etc.
Must have the ability to write Java code in support of developing test automation and suites
Must have had exposure to setup, configuration and usage of multiple operating systems (Debian/Ubuntu)
Must have previous QA experience working on all aspects of testing a SaaS offering including functional, stress/performance and deployment
Ability to work in complex setups and configurations an asset
Configuration and troubleshooting of web/application servers and/or IT networking in combination with software quality skills an asset
Bachelor of Science or equivalent formal training
