Position:Technical Analyst
Location: Vancouver, BC
IT MindFinders is conducting a search for a Technical Analyst for the Vancouver corporate offices of a national retail organization with multiple locations.
Reporting directly to the Manager, Information Technology, this individual requires a solid background in Microsoft infrastructure technologies and enjoys a broad scope of activities in their work.
Responsibilities:
Receive and resolve all types of Tier 1,2 & 3 support calls and escalations, ensuring completion of incidents. Assume full responsibility for appropriate closure and documentation of all support incidents
Lead project initiatives from start to finish, ranging from new technology rollouts and upgrades including documentation
Assist in the handling and managing of vendors and the vendor service levels on corporate technologies
Manage corporate technologies with a primary focus on Microsoft server and storage technologies
Assist with the management of the growing use of Cisco and VoIP technologies across the WAN
Perform evaluations of hardware and software prior to acquisition to ensure compatibility with existing systems.
Prepare requirements specifications, request for proposals/quotations and evaluate proposals based on business requirements and direction from IT Management and Executives
Perform administration of network user accounts, application accounts, and user permissions for the windows Domain and IBM iSeries Environments.
Maintain and update anti-virus \ Backup and other IT systems; installing approved fixes and patches
Provide individual and/or group instruction and training to users on technology
Perform software compatibility testing and assessment for application and operating system patches and enhancements
Make recommendations on enhancements and modifications to improve IT operations to the IT Manager
Contribute to the achievement of overall IT department goals including client satisfaction
Identify and analyze business needs and develop solutions to problems
Provide Emergency Off hours support on a rotational basis
Participate in scheduled \ unscheduled branch visits based on the requirements of the incident
Requirements:
IT Diploma from recognized technical institution or equivalent work experience
Exceptional English language skills (spoken and written) are mandatory
Minimum 5 years hands on experience building / deploying server hardware infrastructures for enterprise environments
Microsoft certification ()
5 years experience with Microsoft implementation and upgrade projects
