IT MindFinders is conducting a search for a Manager, Systems Analysis for our downtown Vancouver based client.

 

Reporting to the Senior Director, the Manager, System Analysis will have responsibility and ownership for the conceptual design and implementation of a platform that provides an enterprise-wide proprietary business systems application that supports automated workflows, data capture, and knowledge management. This system is specific to an accreditation program and includes a central client relationship management system (CRM).

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Capture business requirements using interviews, document analysis, business process descriptions, task and workflow analysis, site visits, and case scenarios.
• Develop functional specifications and system design specifications using standard templates and natural language.
• Lead testing efforts and ensure issues are identified, tracked, reported on and resolved in a timely manner. Translate information into detailed applications plans.
• Provides leadership, guidance and support to the Technical Support Systems Analyst. Set performance expectations and oversees performance plans.
• Provide direction for one full time coordinator that also conducts user testing.
• Manage external resources in accordance with the development project schedule.
• Assist in the enforcement of project deadlines and schedules.
• Meet budget targets and associated timelines.
• Design, test, deploy, maintain and support the platform.
• Advise on the procurement of all goods and services required to support the development and implementation of the platform.
• Responsible for the conceptual design, implementation and maintenance of the platform. 
• Serve as the conduit and translator between the business and the technical team to establish the technical vision.
• Implements policies and procedures related to the development of the platform
• Ensure that any potential hazards and risks to staff are recognized and minimized.
• Generate new and unique ideas, approaches and solutions to complex problems and opportunities.
• Regularly track and report on activities and schedules. Attend meetings and functions at the direction of the Senior Director.

 MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS

• University Degree in IT, Science, Business or related discipline
• Minimum 5 years relevant experience owning responsibility for a core application project
• Strong understanding in the areas of
• .NET application programming, database and system design
• Internet, Intranet, Extranet and client/server architectures
• how legacy and web-based systems interface with each other
• relational database architecture
• Microsoft enterprise level applications including  Microsoft Report and Crystal Reports
• Expert level knowledge of the various stages of the analysis process (e.g. Requirements, mapping, screen design, usability, data flow, etc.).
• Knowledge of system design and analysis and productivity improvement methodologies.
• Strong leadership and active coaching skills
• A developed ability in the facilitation of groups
• Exceptional English language skills - written and oral communication
• Demonstrated research, evaluation and critical thinking skills
• Familiarity with Google docs is a nice to have
