Position: Microsoft Software Developer
Location: Vancouver, BC
IT MindFinders is conducting a search for a motivated and creative software developer for one of our Vancouver clients. Successful applicants will have 5 -6 years experience developing enterprise level software applications.
This position requires a team player who can communicate well, thrive in an entrepreneurial environment, and consistently deliver professional, high quality technical solutions. The ideal candidate is passionate about technology and has a strong customer service orientation. The candidate must be comfortable working independently and as part of a collaborative team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Work closely with Lead Developer to understand the existing code and support requirements
Work closely with Business Analysts and Project Manager to understand the business needs driving development/enhancement projects
Participate in designing robust solutions for complex financial applications
Provide technical estimates to Lead Developer
Identify high level system impacts and perform the function of a technical BA for support enhancements
Write quality code that integrates with existing systems
Perform unit and some functional testing
Work with Network Admin team, SharePoint expert, and other misc. infrastructure consultants to deliver enhancements to existing software
Documentation of work and collaboration with other development and support teams
Responsible for maintaining/developing enhancements to existing code base. (Predominantly VB.Net with some C# applications)
Longer term transition to supporting and developing enhancements for advanced C# applications
QUALIFICATIONS
University or college degree in a technical capacity
5 - 6 years of application development experience and a proven track record delivering complex enterprise class systems
A solid understanding and practical use of Software Development technologies such as VB.NET, C#, SQL, ASP.NET MVC, Web Services, NHibernate, NUnit, Rhino Mocks
Legacy code migration experience is a definite asset
Self-starter with excellent written and spoken English language communication skills
Experience working with SQL Server 2008 databases
Must have experience using Crystal Reports preferably at least version 10
MS Office 2003/2007 Suite
Prefer a small-business, fast paced working environment.
Financial services industry experience would be preferred
