IT MindFinders is conducting a search for a Java Application Developer on behalf of our client located in Vancouver, BC. Reporting to the Manager, Information Systems the Java Application Developer will assume the role of technical lead for applications currently in the development stage and for creating new applications.  As a key part of the MIS team, the Java Application Developer will develop a high quality of code that is both elegant and maintainable.  The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills enabling them to discuss issues amongst the team, deliver solutions and communicate decisions to stakeholders. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

• will participate in all phases of the software development life cycle, able to balance the conflicting requirements of multiple projects
• will lead in the development, documentation and maintenance of a variety of different applications
• analyze requirements and contribute to functional and logical design of projects
• work as part of a tight knit team where strong collaboration is essential

 QUALIFICATIONS

 

• 5 or more years of solid Java development experience (Java EE 5/6)
• Solid experience in leading multifaceted, complex projects
• Experience working within an agile environment
• JSF (PrimeFaces, IceFaces, RichFaces or equivalent)
• Maven
• SQL (MySQL and/or DB2 preferred)
• JPA/Hibernate
• JAX-WS / JAX-RS
• Glassfish
• Netbeans
• Knowledge of Nexus, Jira, Jenkins, Mercurial, LDAP, CDI and SEAM 3 are definite assets though not essential
• Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering or equivalent
