Position: Product Support Engineer
Location: Vancouver, BC
IT MindFinders is conducting a search for a Product Support Engineer on behalf of our client located in Vancouver, BC. Reporting to the Global Client Services Director, the Product Support Engineer will provide in-depth technical support of our client’s software product to global customers, partners and internal sales personnel. This individual will define problems, analyze data and respond to technical issues with the software as well as define and communicate customer needs for further development and enhancements to the product suite. The ideal candidate will bring a broad technical skill set, depth of experience and customer-centered philosophy that goes beyond "break-fix" support to ensure that our client maintains their 98% customer satisfaction rating.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide world-class technical support to a global customer base with a focus on western US/Canada timezone
- Define customer issues, analyze data and respond to complex technical issues
- Configure Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Setup of Active Directory or other directory servers.
- Troubleshoot issues with HTTP communications, including cookies.
- Troubleshoot issues with Java, .NET, and PHP applications.
- Configure and troubleshoot SSL/TLS.
- Manage digital signatures and encryption.
- Certificate management.
- Manage network communications as they impact web application clients and servers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 4 years of practical technical support experience with enterprise-level software systems in a client-facing role.
- Solid background in supporting middleware applications.
- Java application development an asset.
- ASP.NET web applications using C# and/or VB an asset.
- Integrated Windows Authentication including NTLM and Kerberos an asset.
- Knowledge of Federation and Identity Management including: SAML, ADFS an asset.
- Knowledge of SaaS APIs (Google, SFDC, OpenID) an asset.
- Web services experience, including Microsoft Web Services Extensions (WSE) and Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) an asset
- Superior verbal and written communication skills specifically describing technical issues and solutions to non-technical audiences.
- BS-Computer Science or equivalent degree and/or at least four years of practical experience.
