Position: Quality Assurance Analyst / Verification Specialist
Location: Vancouver, BC
IT MindFinders is conducting a search for a Quality Assurance Analyst / Verification Specialist for our downtown Vancouver based client. Reporting directly to the Software Team Lead, the QA Analyst will lead the company in the direction of automated testing.
This person will have experience in designing and implementing automated and manual test cases for software applications as well as establish and implement QA testing and validation requirements.
Responsibilities:
Research, recommend and implement a software automation testing solution
Recommend and utilize strategies for test case development and bug tracking/reporting
Design and develop QA test plans, test cases and test data from requirements and design documents for existing and new functionality.
Work closely with all members of team and lead the QA process, present QA benchmarks and findings to the technical team and upper management
Ensure that software quality measures comply with regulatory standards, industry standards and accepted best practices.
Remain current on industry trends as well as future strategic developments within quality assurance
Takes responsibility for self-development and continuous learning to achieve the required knowledge for the job
Provide estimates and resource requirements for testing effort
Perform and report results for functional, black box, white box, web, regression and load testing to uncover defects
Perform verification on resolved defects
Mentor and assist others in testing roles
Requirements:
University degree in computer studies or a related discipline
Minimum 5 years experience in a software QA role for web-based software
Well verse in the design, development, and implementation of test plans
Strong understanding of automation tools
Experience testing web applications and web services – preference for SaaS experience
Knowledge of web based security
Attention to detail, documentation and SDLC
Good working knowledge of SQL
Familiar with Agile development methods.
Excellent oral and written English communications skills
Experience with Unix environments an asset
