IT MindFinders is conducting a search for a Senior Java Developer (in Test) on behalf of our client located in Vancouver, BC. Reporting to the Vice President, Development, the Senior Java Developer will work closely with the Project Director on all tasking and in meeting commitments.   

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

• Develop test automation suites and internal test automation tools using Java and Groovy.
• Design and implement automated test scenarios for enterprise middleware product.
• Maintain and support distributed test automation system.
• Work with product teams and quality engineering teams to identify features and test cases ready for automation.
• Stage test situations to understand requirements from product and quality engineering teams.
• Design and configure test environment to increase product quality.

  QUALIFICATIONS

 

• Minimum 5 years of software experience in a commercial, enterprise-level product environment.
• Must have solid experience with Java development and working within a Java environment.
• Must have experience with automation test cases from the system level to the user interface.
• Must have experience with open source and open source tools.
• Must have experience with application server development as well as demonstrated knowledge and application of software quality engineering principles in a fast-paced environment.
• Must have strong familiarity with relational DBMS such as MySQL.
• Experience working within an agile, iterative, or XP environments.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Experience working with offshore teams an asset.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to maintain lightweight documentation such as spreadsheets.
• Capable of working to 2 week iteration pace.
• Available for occasional travel (very minimal).
• Ability to work autonomously and to take ownership with minimal direction.
• Capable of growing junior team members and a willingness to do so.
• BSCS or related engineering degree or equivalent experience.
