IT MindFinders is conducting a search for a Business Analyst on behalf of our client located in Richmond, BC. Reporting to the Project Manager with a dotted line report to the Lead Business Analyst, the Business Analyst will be responsible for driving the requirements analysis process as well as:

• leading requirements gathering workshops
• eliciting and reviewing business processes
• analyzing and evaluating applications
• developing proposed functional designs
• specifying customer and system requirements
• conducting feasibility studies
• creating and owning the analysis documentation

Our client is looking for someone who can engage, communicate and present to senior-level subject matter experts, customers and third-party vendors. A CMMI Level 3 assessed organization, they offer a standardized way of performing requirements analysis and the SDLC.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide analytic services to one or more projects
• Responsible for leading and managing the requirements analysis process
• Define and own project documentation
• UI design specification
• High level Data schema definition
• Generate high level development work packages, and coordinate ROM estimation process to support scope definition
• Participate in test plan development
• Scope change management

Required Skills:

• 2+ years experience as a business systems analyst
• 2+ years in the use of OOAD and business analysis process methodologies
• 2+ years experience in database design, n-tier system architecture, and all key aspects of web-based application design
• Exceptional communication, facilitation, leadership and presentation skills
• Ability to deal with change
• Able to plan and manage time across multiple projects
• Excellent teamwork skills
• Passion for continuous innovation
• Willingness and ability to travel to US or as required
• Experience in aviation or transportation will be considered an asset
• Solid working knowledge of IT standards, architecture and frameworks (e.g. J2EE, XML, C#, Oracle)

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in either a technical discipline or business-related field
