Position: Business Systems Technology Manager

Position Description:

 

IT MindFinders is conducting a search for a Business Systems Technology Manager on behalf of our client located in Surrey, BC. Reporting directly to the CFO, the Business Systems Technology Manager will be responsible for the following:

• Collaboratively lead in the development of business system process solutions in a manufacturing environment to support strategic business initiatives.
• Work together with other business systems managers to co-ordinately respond to the local business system requirements.
• Develop a framework of relationships in all of the business segments
• Actively participate in the development of definitions and documentation of standards and processes.

Additional Responsibilities Include:

o Manage and operate all MOVEX ERP and related system infrastructures, including that of COGNOS, BPW, ReportNet, Streamserve and SQL2000.
o Managing all phases of IT business system solutions including assessing, identifying, designing, building, testing, and implementation some of which may also include managing vendor relationships.
o Support all business system users both through problem responsiveness and knowledge needs requirements.
o Maintain a high level of security regarding, both hardware, software and information systems processes.
o Develop MOVEX training requirements that address particular user needs to improve their performance efficiency and competence.
o Technically support unique desktop technology users including that of payroll systems, least cost formulae systems, and banking information system.
o Provide secondary systems administration support to SATTLINE control systems and primary integration support of SATTLINE with other administrative systems.
o Administer and maintain physical plant security monitoring systems.
o Support voice & data communications systems including VPN, Netscreen, phone, cellular & satellite systems.

Requirements:

• Excellent relational skills including written and oral communication demonstrating superior “client” servicing.
• A proven track record of maintaining and improving the alignment of business information systems process to business requirements.
• Committed to travel, as necessary, both internationally and locally.
• Consistently organized working patterns to support “clients” and the development of systems.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently or under only general direction on requirements that are moderately complex to analyse, plan, and implement.
• Formal educational background of a University degree in Computer Science (or similar formal educational background).
• Extensive experience working with and supporting users in a manufacturing ERP application (MOVEX would be ideal).
• Substantial experience in working with COGNOS and the SQL language.
• Understanding of accounting system fundamentals
• Outstanding capability of working with a variety of people personalities.
• Demonstrated technical writing ability with specific experience in systems and procedures documentation.
• Excellent problem identification skills.
• Superior reporting and data analysis skills.
• Demonstrated determination in the evaluation and mitigation of the information technology “total cost of ownership”.
• Previous information systems project management experience.
• Some experience working in a multinational information systems environment.
