IT MindFinders is conducting a search for an Infrastructure Analyst on behalf of our client in Burnaby, BC. Reporting to the IT Manager, the Infrastructure Analyst defines and implements standards and procedures that enable IT to deliver high quality services. The successful candidate will be a technical generalist with a deep understanding of operating system, network, database and storage technologies. The Infrastructure Analyst will analyze IT systems’ performance and capacity, identify resource requirements, manage projects, and assist the IT manager in the development of strategic plans.
Specific duties include:
· Documenting, configuring, and supporting core IT systems:
o Server hardware (HP and IBM x86 stand-alone, rack, and blade servers)
o VMware ESX and Microsoft Windows server operating systems
o DAS, NAS, and SAN storage systems (e.g. IBM DS4300)
o Backup infrastructure and recovery procedures (Backup Exec)
o Writes scripts (CMD, VBscript, PERL) to automate operational and maintenance tasks
· Defining, documenting and implementing standards for IT systems configuration, management processes, security restrictions and documentation.
· Responsible for Change Control documentation and processes.
· Integrating quality processes and regulatory requirements into IT processes and procedures and promoting compliance with regulatory and quality system requirements within IT.
· Participation in technical design of all new IT systems to ensure effective integration with existing systems.
· Training other IT personnel on the use, administration and management of IT systems.
· Analyzing current IT systems usage and planning for future requirements (capacity planning)
Essential Requirements:
· Demonstrated experience developing process and system design documentation.
· >5 years experience in IT services for >200 users with >20 production servers
· Working knowledge for some or all of the following
o VMware Virtual Infrastructure
o SQL Server database administration
o Disaster recovery planning and testing
o Cisco phones and network equipment
o Active Directory
o Windows Server 2003
o Exchange 2003
Assets:
· Exposure to implementation and maintenance of quality systems such as ITIL, ISO or GLP.
· Experience training and mentoring junior IT staff.
· Project management experience. |
