IT MindFinders is conducting a search for an IT Manager on behalf of our client located in Vancouver, BC. As a key member of the IT management team, the IT Manager oversees the implementation and operation of all IT initiatives. He/she will ensure customer satisfaction both internally and externally while maximizing IT budgets. Reporting to the CFO, the IT Manager must be fully fluent in a Microsoft environment (i.e. Windows Server 2003, Exchange 2003, MS SQL, etc.) and must have experience with privacy, security (including intrusion detection), and web based operational management.
Position Description:
· Responsible for the company’s technical infrastructure, network architecture, maintenance and performance
· Maintain infrastructure security and data integrity
· Maintain up-to-date documentation of all IT systems, infrastructure, processes and procedures
· Identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective and innovative technology solutions throughout the organization
· Analyze and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of IT systems
· Assist with strategic planning, development, implementation, and evaluation for all hardware, and software requirements encompassing all electronic voice and data systems
· Responsible for quality, cost-effective use of resources
· Interface and build relationships with external suppliers
· Responsible for timeliness of project implementation against established targets
· Prepare regular progress reports to CFO of project and departmental activities
· Effectively manage and coach the Systems Administrator
· Perform both quarterly and annual performance reviews
· Assist with the development and management of the IT budget
Requirements:
· College/University degree in Computer Science or Information Technology Management
· 5-10 years of progressively senior experience in IT technical positions with 3+ years at management level
· Strong project management and leadership skills are essential
· Strong organization and problem solving skills
· Analytical and planning abilities, combined with good business sense
· Action-oriented individual who excels in a multi-project fast paced environment
· Technical proficiency in the Windows 2000/NT, Windows 2003 and XP operating systems environment including administration, client/server technology, backup, and computer hardware is essential
· Technical proficiency with MS SQL, Exchange 2003, IIS, Active Directory, Citrix, VMware Server, and scripting
· Experience with the design and implementation of sound security and disaster recovery plans and procedures
· Ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
· Demonstrated reasoning and decision-making ability
· Ability to work on notice and on call, 24/7
· Excellent written and oral communication skills
Assets:
· Experience working within a retail or inventory based operational environment
· Solid working knowledge of point of sale systems
