Responsibilities

• Analyse and document business processes & define system specifications using 'Best Practices'
• Recommend changes to businesses processes/procedures
• Assist in developing knowledge and expertise of systems within the user community
• Lead small to medium size software projects, develop & maintain project plans, recommend work division/assignment and liaise with end-user group.
• Conduct quality assurance reviews and monitor and report project progress.
• Manage change controls to ensure seamless software upgrades.
• Abnormal situation management and resolution and trouble shooting of problems at the client, server or network level.
• Provide backup support services to help desk and other IT staff.
• Participate in the maintenance and testing of the disaster recovery plan.
• Ensure all software documentation is up to date and accurate.

Must have skills

• Applicants for this position will ideally hold a Microsoft Certified Systems Developer (MCSD) qualification and/or post secondary education at the Diploma or higher level.
• 4+ years dedicated experience in software development.
• Excellent knowledge of software development methodologies and processes
• Previous experience leading software development projects using Windows .NET framework class libraries
• Experienced C# and C++ programmer with object-oriented analysis, design, and application development expertise with strong expertise in applications interfacing to SQL databases.
• Experience in developing software systems that integrate with Microsoft Office.
• Superior verbal and written communication skills
• Good research and investigative skills.
