As part of the Research and Development team, the Software Developer will work very closely with the Product Management and QA teams to deliver products, on time and to consistently high quality standards.
You will constantly be applying your excellent software analysis, design and creative problem solving skills along with your superior understanding and implementation of software development processes. Responsibilities:
- Design and develop new software products and subsystems in collaboration with the development team and as assigned by the development lead.
- Write code in a variety of languages.
- Research and experiment with new technologies and share your discoveries with the team.
- Adapt to a variety of operating systems and development technologies.
- Collaborate with the product, program management and engineering teams to clarify requirements.
- Partner with QA throughout the development process and quickly respond to and fix bugs and errors identified by QA.
- Prepare accurate documentation throughout the project.
- Participate in project meetings throughout the development lifecycle, provide insightful input and ideas, and effectively communicate project status and challenges.

Required Skills:
- Must have:
- solid experience with Java
- strong knowledge of XML, DOM and related technologies.
- experience applying software engineering principals and object oriented design.
- J2EE, JSP, Struts, JavaBeans
- Ability to learn new programming languages.
- Should have experience with:
- JavaScript, Python or other scripting languages
- Content Management Systems.
- bug tracking and source code control systems.
- Experience with some of the following technologies:
- DITA, DocBook
- XSLT, XML Schema/DTDs, XPath, AX, SOAP, Unicode, Internationalization, Localization
- HTML, CSS, AJAX
- Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
Required Experience:
- Computer Science degree or diploma or equivalent experience and/or obvious talent.
- For Junior/Intermediate position 1 to 7 years experience in a commercial oftware development environment.
- For Senior position 8+ years experience in a commercial software development environment.
