IT MindFinders is conducting a search for a Senior Systems Engineer - Linux Architect for our client, a real time, highly secured application service provider. The HA technical environment is sophisticated and the team is high-energy. This organization requires someone with deep technical experience and the ability to grow into a more senior role. This position is based in the Vancouver downtown core.

Responsibilities: 

• Management and future development/design of IT infrastructure.

• Participate in the overall planning, analysis, design and implementation of infrastructure strategies.

• Responsibility for the overall security of data operations.

• Management of technology vendor relationships.

• Internal and external customers technical support.

• Monitor and maintain networks, systems and related infrastructure.

• Rotating on-call emergency support estimated at approximately one week every 4 to 6 weeks.

Must Have Skills: 

• Degree/Diploma in Computer Science or Information Technology.

• Minimum 8 – 10 years working in a dynamic, secure 24/7 data centre environment.

• Advanced knowledge of Linux and Unix (Solaris) system administration.

• Expertise in network security design, concepts, management and recovery methods.

• Advanced knowledge of network topologies and protocols including reduncant networking, load-balancing, TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VPN HTTP, SSL and TLS.

• Experience with Cisco IOS, knowledgeable of Oracle, MySql, Apache/Tomcat or WebSphere.

• Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.

• Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills.

• Available for on-call schedule.
