Position: Senior Systems Administrator/Analyst

Position Description:

Reporting to the Technical Services Manager with dotted line reporting to the Technical Services Operations Lead, the Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for providing tier two, specialized technical support, advice and guidance to internal customers in the areas of WAN/LAN, applications, telecommunications, databases, middleware and enterprise computing systems, in addition to the installation of these systems. 

  • Member of the Technical Services team in the installation of enterprise computing and local area network systems using defined system development / project methodology and project management techniques
  • Responsible for system modifications and enhancements impacting the setup and maintenance of client systems
  • Responsible for developing related support documentation, system processes and procedures
  • Provides tier and escalation support to all levels within the Technical Services operation group.
  • Ensures all WAN/LAN and enterprise computing products and services are functioning correctly
  • Responsible for the overall operations of networks and systems including the coordination of capacity, performance and tuning requirements of the network and enterprise computing environment as well as maintaining liaison with vendors in the event of system failure or required escalation. 
  • Maintains the technical interface between the company and their businesses within the community
  • Participates in system testing, performance tracking and security reviews; Network, NT/Citrix specialized support and troubleshooting; acting as an integration specialist in the application of systems, software, and hardware to the technical environment; translates user and technology requirements into technical requirements
  • Participates in regular department meetings to discuss current activities and consult on problems and issues; ensures the smooth flow of communication between all team members while contributing to overall team effectiveness.
  • Takes responsibility for self-development and continuous learning to achieve the required knowledge for the job.
  • Maintain currency on latest trends and technical developments as relevant to Envision and provide recommendations / technical expertise as required
  • Site visits for problem resolution and/or to support new initiatives may be required.
  • This position will participate in the sharing of after-hours support by telephone

Must Have Skills and Requirements:

  • University or college degree in an information technology science
  • MCSE designation in 2000/2003 tracks OR an equivalent combination of both education and experience
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a technical and systems environment with exposure to operating systems, network and communication services/standards
  • CCA (Citrix Certified Administrator) in a Metaframe environment
  • Microsoft Exchange
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • Microsoft Active Directory
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) including Cisco Pix experience
  • Nortel / Cisco Phone Systems
  • VMWare
