IT MindFinders is conducting a search for our client in downtown Vancouver for a quality assurance person to join their highly motivated team.

The primary functions of this role will be identifying risks, creating test plans, automating test scripts and building documentation in a dynamic, exciting and advanced setting.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, document and implement QA efforts for enterprise software application systems in a team environment

• Define test strategies; create test plans and test cases

• Execute functional and load test cases manually and with tools

• Investigate, record and manage issues in a defect management system

• Identify and explore opportunities for test automation

• Coordinate with various teams and external contacts to ensure project deadlines are met

• Maintain and enforce change control policy

MUST HAVE SKILLS:

• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering

• Minimum three years working in Quality Assurance - master of defect and requirements management

• Experience using Linux/UNIX systems, script programming for test automation, and troubleshooting web applications - work with automated build system daily

• Solid understanding of all stages of software development - programming experience to be able to review unit tests and write scripts (Java, C#, Perl, PHP, JavaScript, Dynamic web content, SSL, unit testing, build scripts, revision control, virtualization software, modern software development methodologies, apache/tomcat)

• Exposure to relational databases and SQL

• Expert communicator with strong writing/documentation skills

• Highly detailed personality

• Accomplished at refining requirements

• Proven skills in process improvement
