Position: Senior Microsoft Systems Engineer - Exchange Specialist

Position Description:

IT MindFinders is conducting a Vancouver based search for a Senior Microsoft Systems Engineer with expertise in Exchange Systems and the protection of corporate data. This position is based in the company’s Vancouver branch office and reports directly and remotely to the Microsoft Practice Leader. The Senior Microsoft Systems Engineer will be responsible for delivering Microsoft focused solutions in the BC Market.

Preference will be given to the candidacy of those individuals with relevant certifications. Company clients range from medium companies to large corporations. Previous customer facing consulting experience is considered to be a significant asset.

Responsibilities:

• Participates in the pre-sales cycle where technical expertise and guidance is required. The presales/customer facing component of this role is approximately 30%.

• Take an active lead in recommending overall planning, analysis, design and implementation of a variety of Microsoft infrastructure strategies and solutions.

• Responsible for implementing backup and recovery/storage designs.

• Ensure all client change and incident management procedures are followed

• Determine that client environments are secure, reliable and all data is protected from failure

• Document problems and solutions that address technical issues.

• Manage local relationships with technology vendors.

• Maintain currency on latest trends and technical developments as relevant to the role and focus of the company.

Must Have Skills

• IT Diploma from recognized technical institution or equivalent work experience - MCSE preferred.

• Previous experience designing and delivering Microsoft infrastructure solutions of varying complexity and scale

• Minimum 5 years Microsoft Exchange experience with implementation and upgrade projects.

• Minimum 5 years hands on experience building / deploying server hardware infrastructures with with products for enterprise environments including:
o VMware
o Citrix
o SQL Server
o Active Directory
o Windows Server

• Experience with disaster recovery planning and testing.

• Solid knowledge of Microsoft and TCP/IP networking skills including DHCP, DNS, addressing, subnets and WAN/LAN principles.

• Skilled with project, time management and troubleshooting skills

• Proven ability to document problems and solutions that address technical issues - excellent English communication skills - written and verbal

• Some flexibility to travel if required for participation on large national projects.
