Position: Web Producer - Internal & External Website Management

Position Description:
IT MindFinders is conducting a search for a Web Producer with Microsoft SharePoint 2007 skills for the corporate offices of a Vancouver based financial services company.
Reporting directly to the IT Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for all corporate web presences – public and private.
This opportunity includes responsibility for designing, building, and implementing new Web pages and sites; working with developers to integrate sites with back end applications; maintaining a solid document management structure; ensuring the consistency of the Web site’s look and feel; and performing day-to-day administration.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and manage website roadmaps keeping them up-to-date, prioritizing items based on user impact and effort involved
- Interact with the marketing team on various web initiatives, make presentations, gain approval, follow through with the initiative and report on results
- Provide recommendations on site changes that will result in greater usability and search engine optimization, and that are technically feasible
- Improve and prepare web templates to use for publishing newsletters, in effort to improve usability, accessibility and search engine optimization
- Research and make recommendations on emerging trends in the industry and how they can be utilized within the company (i.e. stats, social media, SEM, SEO, video, etc)
- Prepare actionable web stats reports and share with the team
- Lead and provide direction on the optimization of the site content for organic search results, web-friendly content and sites usability
- Prepare various guideline documentation to ensure processes are captured, documented and distributed to the stakeholders
- Provide support to office staff on Client Access Website Utility - on occasion work with developers to explain and resolve the issue
- Support clients with various Client Access website issues
- Troubleshoot SharePoint issues and provide training & support to end-users
- Conduct various usability studies to organize web content and conduct external and internal client surveys (email and by phone)
- Organize and lead website change control meetings, prepare agendas, provide the communication, follow-up and project updates to the team
- Conduct vendor selection process using a standard criteria
- Act as ambassador for SharePoint, promoting its services and features in effort to increase adoption and more frequent use
- Conduct homepage and department index pages redesigns using best practices and current site usage
- Develop mockups, using SPS Designer tool, HTML, CSS and a bit of programming to customize page layouts
- Work with outside developers to develop and implement SPS enhancements
- Prepare detailed requirements, prioritize and ensure costs are kept reasonable and bring the most value to the firm
- Manage end-user site access and permissions
MUST HAVE SKILLS:
- Exceptional English language skills (spoken and written) are mandatory
- College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or 4 years equivalent work experience
- Experience working with Microsoft SharePoint 2007
- Well developed advanced troubleshooting skills
- Very strong customer service orientation and excellent interpersonal skills
- Understanding of basic project management principles
- Experience with Web-database integration and a range of database platforms, including Oracle and SQL Server
- Understanding of computer graphic and multimedia design
- Good knowledge of Web technologies, protocols, and tools
- Retail, Finance or insurance industry experience is highly desirable.
